This was not the first comic I ever published, but it's really where The Day Players started. Note the old title still hanging around at the top, "FPK," which was a throwback to the comic's original form: "Frighteningly Pretentious Komix!" (I actually wanted to call it, "Hey, Hipster! Komix!" but my father said at the time that I would be severely limiting my audience)

The comic started out as a clipart strip where I would grab public domain artwork, vectorize it, then throw my dialogue in around it.

Then, in 2012, I got an iPad and discovered "Paper by Fifty-Three," an app that felt like a revelation. Suddenly, I was encouraged to start actually drawing my own art, even if it was a little bit rough. I experimented a little bit here and there, and with this strip I dove headfirst into the idea of actually drawing my comic instead of searching out public domain art to plunder. And, to go along with the shift in art sources, I changed the title to just "FPK."
